Martinborough Day Trip

The Hikers guide to Martinborough
First off, beat the traffic and aim to get to Martinborough before 9 a.m. If you are travelling over the hill the traffic can get quite busy so ideally aim to arrive for breakfast. The locals will tend to eat either at Kitchener’s during the week (its open crazy early!) or The Neighborhood cafe.
Rapaki Walk: A popular, farm loop with stunning views of the Wairarapa Valley and vineyards. It features some steep slopes and stiles. No dogs allowed, and it's closed during lambing season (September–October).
Patuna Chasm Walk: A 3-hour, self-guided hike through a 1.3-million-year-old limestone chasm, available from November 12th to March 31st. Requires booking with Patuna Farm Adventures and a reasonable level of fitness.
Palisser Vineyard Walk: A 50-minute, flat, and leisurely walk around a local vineyard. It's ideal for a quick, accessible, and relaxing stroll.
Tora Coastal Walk: A three-day, fully catered private walk situated 30 minutes from Martinborough. It offers an immersive experience, traversing farmland, native bush, and the rugged, breathtaking Tora coastline.
